Why a Blog?
Sip Savor Smile started as a way to share our passion for travel, food, and the beverage industry. It allows us an outlet for sharing some life experiences, and beer, wine, and fun with you. Join us as we show you some off-the-beaten path destinations, and new drinks to try. We’ll explore wine regions that you haven’t heard of, or highlights of our latest vacation. In turn, we’ll introduce you to some fun-loving and like-minded people along the way. We also know where all the fun spots and events are in Northern California so if you are looking for recommendations, we get ’em!
Meet the Team
Sip Savor Smile is written by a father-daughter duo who share the same sense of adventure and zest for life. If you’re going to have a blog, why not have it with one of your favorite people?

What do you want to be when you grow up? Well, never did a girl growing up in Northern California think that she would have begun her career in the wine industry in Atlanta, Georgia. Starting with Robert Mondavi Winery (yes, they had a sales office out there…no winery), I found a language I could speak and an industry that I couldn’t get enough of. Brands I have worked for and with over the past 20 years include Robert Mondavi Winery, Opus One, Guinness, Smirnoff, Jose Cuervo, Tanqueray, Captain Morgan, Red Stripe, the Chalone Wine Group, BV Wines, Trellis Wine Group, Folio Fine Wine Partners, the Placer Wine Trail, m2 Wines, Heritage Oak, Abundance Vineyards, Loomis Basin Brewery, the Lincoln Wine Fest, and many more. And to answer the first question above, I refuse to grow up! -Rebecca

Master of Adventure
With over 30 countries travelled to so far, there are many to go. After crossing the Atlantic Ocean for the first time in 1998, I was hooked on true international travel where you have to learn a new language, different customs, drive on the other side of the road, and exchange your money. With a job that allows for extended vacation time and a freedom to not have to come back to sales quotas, thousands of emails, and a stack of paper on my desk, I was free to go for 2-3 weeks at a time with no sense of guilt. Heaven! Since retiring in October 2018, the bucket list keeps growing and now I don’t have to use my paid time off. With my wife, Mary, as the planner and travel bookie, my purpose is to pack the bags and do the heavy lifting. Past few locations visited in the last year include Fiji, Spain, Portugal, and Alaska. Not a bad price to pay to see the world! -Dave
